Weed cutting and harvesting contracts
Avington Trout Fishery’s new weed harvesting boat has arrived and has already been put to good use, cutting weed on our own lakes, and also at other venues in Southern England. The weed harvesting boat, from Aquarius Systems in the United States, can cut to a maximum depth of 1.5 metres.
Ready for launch
Depending on the particular waters, our boat is capable of cutting and removing weed from 1 to 5 acres per day. Avington Trout Fishery can offer a very competitive contracting service, both for weed cutting and weed harvesting, using either our existing weed boat, or the new harvesting boat.
The new harvesting boat slides down the ramps into the lake
For weed cutting alone, we would charge for boat, fuel and operators, plus the cost of overnight accommodation if it was required. This service leaves free floating weed, which you will then need to net and remove, although we would be happy to undertake the work for an additional price.
Start engines and the boat is off
The weed harvesting service cuts and collects the weed and delivers it onto a trailer. Provided you can supply a place where disposal of the weed can be arranged within a mile of the waters, there is no additional charge for removal from the site.
The cutting conveyor belt is lowered and starts cutting and collecting weed
We are happy to give fixed price quotations, or repeat annual maintenance quotations in addition to basic day rates. Our visit to advise you is free of charge, and there is no obligation upon you to use the service.
